Joint 1st: J Warren and D Stead with 5lb 4oz each 3rd: J Johnson 5lb 20z i Chub There were some big fish caught and some of the trout were even bigger. They love bread.

- [Christmas Cheer](https://dbtaa.org.uk/christmas-cheer/): The Christmas Cheer match was fished on 14.12.25 on the River Tees. 17 members fished the match with everyone catching. M Chapman 12lb 13oz J Johnson 5lb 6oz S Boughey 4lb 4oz J Yardley 3lb 4oz Well done to all. The river was about a foot up.

- [River Swale Batty Memorial Match](https://dbtaa.org.uk/river-swale-batty-memorial-match/): River Swale Batty Memorial Match was fished on 2nd November 2025. The River Swale was clear and carrying 16 inches. It looked good. J Warren, 4lb, one Chub J Johnson, 1lb 2oz, one Grayling. Joint 3rd place: C Cloke and J Burgess, 13oz. Did not fish well. Please note that the match which was to be held on 21st December is to be re-arranged.
- [Sad News of the Passing of Dick Sedgwick.](https://dbtaa.org.uk/sad-news-of-the-passing-of-dick-sedgwick/): Committee would like to pass on the very sad news of the passing of Dick Sedgwick today. Dick was a long standing ATDAC committee member and carried out a huge amount of work on the two ATDAC ponds. He was regularly seen in the barn at Bishopton Mill. Very sad news and we send our deepest sympathy to his family.  RIP

- [Haggie Cup Match Results](https://dbtaa.org.uk/haggie-cup-match-results/): The match results of the Haggie Cup fished on Sunday 1st September 2024 on the River Swale are: B Bramley 21lb 10oz K Close 13lb B Stephenson 10lb 10oz Well done to all who took part. Trout, Grayling, Dace and a small Chub were caught. A small Barbel was also caught off Peg 16 which is a good sign!

- [Change to Competition Venue](https://dbtaa.org.uk/change-to-competition-venue/): Baker Trout Cup – Sunday 19th May 2024. This match will now be fished at Low Coniscliffe on the River Tees and not on the River Swale. Despite extensive efforts we could not get dispensation from the EA to override one of the Yorkshire Byelaws. The Tees at Low Coniscliffe will be closed from the Weir to the bottom boundary (in terms of pegs it is 23 to 40a). The rest of the water at Low Coniscliffe above this will be open to members to pleasure fish along with the water on the River Swale.
- [Catches or Sightings of Invasive Pink Salmon Must Be Reported](https://dbtaa.org.uk/catches-or-sightings-of-invasive-pink-salmon-must-be-reported/): “The Environment Agency has urged anglers to report catches or sightings of invasive Pacific pink salmon, which are expected to appear in UK waters this year. The arrival of pink salmon raises potential concerns to other native species, including wild Atlantic salmon. Atlantic salmon are threatened, with numbers of the species falling dramatically due to various pressures. The invasive pink salmon is seen as an additional threat to their survival.” The full article can be read on the UK Government website here.

This is the current situation: we are taking new members at the moment but we only have about 30 places still available (as at 8th Jan 2023). About half of these have already been taken.
